Measurements – Conversion Guide

One of the most important things to do to bake well is to measure ingredients correctly. I cannot emphasize this point enough. It’s one of the key reasons as to why some people are able to bake well consistently, and some are not.

While I always recommend using a food measuring scale, a lot of people when starting out, prefer to use baking cups and spoons. That’s totally fine. I used the same for a number of years and I still do for some things. However, over time, you must learn the weight of your dry and wet ingredients.

Remember, cup measurements vary for ingredient to ingredient. Also different countries/regions use different measuring cup sizes as the standard. In india, we use the US standard size of 1 cup = 240 ml.

Confused? Don’t be. I’m sharing this ready reckoner to make it easy for you. It will help as quick reference when you try a recipe. These are the measurements I use for all the recipes on this blog.

Hope this helps you in your baking adventures!
