ABOUT ME

Hi there! Thanks for visiting my blog.

I’m Pooja, and I’ve started this blog as a way to discover new recipes, share my experiences, connect with like-minded bakers, bloggers, and food enthusiasts, while doing the two things I love the most – writing and baking!

I studied marketing at the Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, worked at The Times of India (Bombay) for a while, and went on to study publishing at Columbia University, New York. However life had different plans for me!

Having grown up in a family where we mostly had hired cooks for as long as I can remember, I had never cooked a meal for the first 25 years of my life! Heck, I could hardly make decent tea.

So, suddenly when 5 years back when I found myself in a New York city apartment, newly-married and having relocated to be with my husband who worked there, I realized that the choices I faced were – to learn how to cook, or order out every. single. day. It’s amazing what a week of pizzas, Chipotle, cheap-Indian-box-meals can push you to do – exactly 7 days later I was standing in the kitchen, pressure cooker in hand, laptop on kitchen counter, Skyping with mom asking her if the water level was enough to cook the rice!

That day began a journey that has taught me more than just one life skill. I came to experiment with different cuisines, discovered a joy for baking, and eventually turned into a full-time baker and blogger.

I’ve now gone on to attend a course at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris (my dream-come-true moment,) conducted several baking workshops, and run a company Fab Foods that caters to corporates for their baking requirements (we’ve executed large-scale orders for Sony Pictures, Sab TV, AXN, Colors Tv, Titan, and several others.)

I live in Bombay, India, with my husband, and 5 year old son Vansh!
