Designed To Make Festive Hosting Easier

A great festive menu shouldn’t mean making every single component from scratch.

For this workshop, we’ve intentionally combined homemade elements with smart, readily available ingredients wherever they make sense.

We’ll use things like ready-made pav, tortilla wraps and bread alongside our homemade fillings, sauces and components — helping you create food that looks and tastes special without making the process unnecessarily complicated.

We’ll also discuss suggested brands, sourcing, substitutions, storage and make-ahead preparation throughout the class.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are all the recipes vegetarian and eggless?

Yes. All 6 recipes are 100% vegetarian and eggless, as always.

Q. Can the recipes be made Jain/vegan?

Some of the recipes can be adapted more easily than others. During the workshop, we’ll discuss possible vegan/Jain substitutions wherever they work well without compromising the recipe significantly. Not every recipe, however, has been specifically developed as a vegan/Jain recipe.

Q. I don’t eat mushrooms / can’t find artichokes. Will you suggest substitutes?

Yes! We know that ingredients such as mushrooms, artichokes or edamame may not suit everyone or may not be easily available everywhere.

Wherever possible, we’ll discuss practical ingredient substitutions and alternate fillings so you can still use the base recipe and technique.

Q. Is everything made from scratch?

No — and that’s intentional!

This is a festive entertaining class, so the goal is to create great food without making hosting unnecessarily complicated. We’ll be using convenient ready-made products such as pav, tortilla wraps and bread in some recipes, while preparing the important fillings, flavour components and accompaniments ourselves.

We’ll also share our recommended brands so you know exactly what to look for.

Q. Can I prepare these appetizers in advance?

We’ll specifically discuss make-ahead preparation, storage and final assembly for the recipes during the workshop.

Some components can be prepared ahead while others are best assembled closer to serving. We’ll help you understand how to plan your prep so you’re not stuck in the kitchen while your guests are arriving!

Q. Can I use these recipes commercially?

Absolutely. The menu has been designed to work beautifully beyond home entertaining too.

Home chefs and caterers can adapt these recipes for festive menus, party orders, grazing tables, small events and live catering menus. You’ll also receive a pricing guide to help you understand costing and selling prices.

Q. Is this suitable for beginners? Do I need to be a professional chef to join?

You don’t need professional cooking experience to join.

We’ve intentionally kept the recipes approachable and practical, using easy techniques and smart shortcuts wherever possible — while still creating appetizers that look impressive enough for a festive table. The workshop is suitable for home cooks, home bakers, food enthusiasts and business owners.

Q. Will the workshop help me with costing and pricing?

Yes. You’ll receive a pricing guide to help you understand your costs and work out suitable selling prices, especially if you plan to add these recipes to your business menu.

Q. What if I can’t attend the Facebook Live session?

You don’t have to worry about missing it. A recording of the session will be provided, so you can watch it at your convenience and revisit the recipes whenever you need.
